Rear window stuck in down position

Hello. I am a new Cappuccino owner and I think I have made a rookie error. I removed the top sections and lowered the rear window. The window slide down easily. I am definitely guilty of reading the manual when all else fails. I did not turn the rear window lock lever counter clockwise before lowering the window. The window is stuck in the down position. When I pull up the release lever the window does not pop up a little as it is supposed to. It doesn't move at all. Did I jam the window mechanism or is it possible the spring is damaged? Is there another way to release and raise the window or will I have to disassemble the interior to access the mechanism?

I think you will need to remove the centre console.

Before dismantling it is worth manipulating the back window up and down whilst pulling on the centre console release lever to see if you can start it moving.
Sometimes mine can be a little reluctant to release.
The catches themselves are at either end so you should be able to get to them by removing the plastic panels of the rear shelf if they are not releasing with the release lever.

However, re reading your post am I to understand that the window is still in its normal position relative to the main frame / hoop? If so then it would mean the window is pushed down further than normal and might be jamming there. The effect of releasing the quarter turn catch is that the hoop starts to slide over the glass as they go down so the top of the glass and the front of the hoop are more or less flush with the window down.
