Replacement tensioner ...

Does anyone know the part number of the timing chain tensioner for an EA21R which is fitted with a stock K6A engine?

The one in the Service Manual gave it as 12831-73G00; but I was told that it had now become two part numbers .... 12811-58J00 (for the tensioner) and a link (12821-58J10).

But when I ordered up these two numbers, they were wrong!

Can anyone help, please? My car's a VOR !!

The part is probably an improved design, sufficiently changed to require a new number, but interchangeable with the old on the K6A. I see it also fits the K10A. The basic engine has been in manufacture since 1995 (I think), so changes and improvements have to be expected. In the 2nd link I posted, замена (zamiena) means replacement. Our problem is that we don't have access to an up-to-date computerised parts catalog from Suzuki, so in this case we have to work our way through a Russian translation by using the illustrations!

You're probably right about incorrect packaging.

OK - what I've done is to order up another tensioner (12811-58J00) and fingers crossed, they'll get it right this time.

The irony was that when I first placed the order a few weeks earlier, this was the number I gave them (I checked my order list!); but I think the bloke who was getting the order mistakenly went to the wrong bin and picked up the wrong part. That is what I think happened in this instance! (Human error?)
