X-90 Boot Lid Support

Postby David Regan » Tue Mar 06, 2007 17:01

Hi. Can anyone help?

I have over-lubricated my boot lid hinges and now it won't stay up!

Does anyone have any ideas? I thought about one of those piston type supports, similar to those found on the bonnets of Mercs and BMW's.

The X-90's boot lid is held up by a torsion bar spring, which weakens with age. Some people remove it and reverse it, and say that does the trick. I tried it but couldn't get it in the other way, and nearly crushed my thumb in the process.

I ended up fitting a couple of Cappo boot lid springs as extras - that works:
