Ah, the marvellous Richard Thompson. He's rather good live as well if you get chance to see him. I've seen him a couple of times at the Cropredy festival.

I certainly have - and i should be getting the new album "Koala Motel" at Christmas.

Saw her live at The Greys in Brighton a couple of years ago when Roll was being released, got a signed copy of the live cd ballad of an outlaw woman. Was a good gig, place only holds about 70, you can't get more than 20 feet from the stage! Quite friendly to talk to as well - she was rather upset about howard's re-election at the time!

Those are the gigs to go to. Amazes me that people herd into cowsheds like the NEC to see a glimpse of a band and experience nothing.

I saw early Fleetwood Mac playing on a little bandstand in Small Heath park in Birmingham - again I was no more than 6' away from the players.

Maybe best ever was seeing one of my guitar heroes Albert Lee - in a tiny little room - I was within touching distance - and I STILL coiuldn't work out how he played what he did!! Again - a really nice guy to talk to - very unassuming and modest despite being a seminal player to most guitarists.
