Farewell from me....

Postby Lindsey Gray » Wed Aug 22, 2007 13:58

So long and farewell....

Sadly my time has come to hang up the keys to my babies and move on. This is not through choice but my pride and joy is beyond economical repair, for me. After failing his MOT big style on welding and the garage partially setting light to it (!), they then found more welding that had originally been missed on the MOT. Whilst stripping the car down to start that work, they found yet more bits of the car pretty much no longer attached. At this point it was time to walk away and have him trailored back to my garden where he now rests along side his brother, the salvaged Cappo I acquired about a year or so ago.

They both look very sorry for themselves and long to be on the road but I really can't justify the money needed to repair them and restore them to their rightful glory.... The work already carried out is in excess of £1000 (which thankfully I haven't had to pay for, due to fire damage!) and there's still more needed.

I've been without a car for about 3 long months now but finally I am now able to buy another car and I'm picking it up tonight from a guy at work. I will be buying my fluffy dice and white stillettos at the weekend to go with my Escort LX !!! 5 doors and a boot, what is that about ???

So...... at some stage my babies will be up for sale as I haven't got the heart to strip them down. I will be sorry to see them go and equally sorry to leave the club but it is now time for me to move on. Thank you for all the happy times and memories, I will miss you. If I ever get another Cappy, I will be back.

I am sure we havent seen the back of you yet whilst you still have 2 cappo's in the garden. Don't leave them there for 2 long or they will take root. I've just bought my third one! but I think it will probably be a quicker repair without any rust to deal with.

It dosn't seems so long ago you picked up the last cappo I remember the big plans you had for it. But then we all have big plans and life changes them quite quickly.

If I don't see you for a while good luck in what every you get up to!

Me too......

Regrettably I feel it's time for me to say farewell too.

Unlike Lindsay I'm lucky enough to be able to keep my Cappo - in fact ironically I'm just moving to a house where Suzy can come and live in her own personal garage.

Things move on so as renewal time is here again for me - I've decided to say 'Farewell' to SCORE.

Enjoy driving your Cappos and I hope to see some of you around - on the road, or in other 'Cappo' places on the internet.

Good luck and safe driving.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for everything you have done for SCORE what with your work on the Classified area and your ongoing 'banter' on the message board.

It's been great knowing you even though we never met!

All the best,

Alex
