Well - did you manage it last night?

Postby Ken Malone » Mon Jul 03, 2006 11:49

I don't know what it was like where you are (mind you it was probably snowing for Dick & Tracy - (ha ha Dick Tracy  ))

but in the South West Midlands it was pretty much unbearable last night.
Even those that can usually 'sleep for England' had problems.

What about you?

Well on Saturday afternoon it was 22 degrees C in the kitchen so quite nice. In my bedroom in the converted loft it was 28.5!

Still, I've managed to get to sleep and stay there no problem.

My daughter sleeps in the loft bedroom and it was Lord knows what temperature up there last night. She managed a bit of sleep off and on.

The only one who slept was my son who'd just hobbled back from a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award 4-day hike in the Brecon Beacons - he'd have slept anywhere he was so bushed.

Spare a thought for those of us battling sub zero temps!

I'm relying on a steady stream of hot chocolate & hot water bottles to keep the feeling in my fingers & toes. Brrrrrrrr!!!

Never mind, the daylight is starting to last longer so I guess the tables will be turned before too long! :)

Having only had about 2 hours sleep last night again it's difficult to be too sympathetic Tracy. The thought of nice crisp cold weather sounds lovely - right NOW!!

Of course it won't be such an attractive thought in six months time!

I have had about 3 hours sleep in the last two nights!!

I can relate to the temperature being scorchio on Saturday as I was running in Race For Life, in Brighton and the heat was horrible.

38C in the shade today here.
But because of our altitude, 875meters, very little humidity. That is the killer.
Pour a cold beer (Hold That Thought) straight out of the fridge and the outside of the glass is virtually dry!

Whilst shopping at our local Liddle in Antequera I came across in their ‘specials’ section a Digital Multimeter for 2.99 Euros, complete with leads, and batteries!!!!.

We weren’t a great fan of Liddle when in the UK but here they have power tools, and electronic equipment etc at fantastic prices, and they also sell the cheapest larger/beer in town, some imported German larger at 48 cents a litre and very drinkable as well.
