Hey Ian, you'll be able to save money on breakdown cover on the Capp, just the dog and a harness, "mush mush home", and away you go!

Nice to see he's obviously a "digger", that'll keep your garden in tip-top shape! .......and make the most of the white coat, while it lasts :laughol:

handsome beast (dog looks nice too!)

I LOVE YOUR POOCH!!!!!!

My pooch seems to have the same mischievous streak - I'd hate to see what trouble they both could get in to!

I think probably half as much again. I need to buy a dogfood factory :D

Murray, we're thinking of setting up in opposition to Green Flag - Maksi has a network of relations around the country

It's from a children's TV Programme from way back - something like "Mupp and Smiff". My daughter came across a music cassette from the series whilst clearing the decks 8O

I bought a dog flap for our Border Collie (4 yrs old) this week but he is petrified of it! I think I made a mistake by poking MY head through in an attempt to show him how it worked!
Any ideas?

Yes, lift the flap and offer him a doggy treat through it a few times. Once he associates the flap with something nice, encourage him push it open to get the treat. Then make him step through to get it.

Then phase out the treats :D

Where did you get the flap, Perry? Sounds like something we could do with; fed up with the back door staying open and a cold blast blowing in. :!:

The trouble is he now won't come within 20ft of it! He's too intelligent to be easily bribed - as soon as you offer him a treat he looks around to see what the catch is!
I got the flap (Staywell 760) in Pet City - it was cheaper than the Web and they offered (exclusive) an alternate door type. There is a much bigger choice at:

Thanks Perry - very useful link.

As far as your problem goes, all I can say is that it will work, but may take a long time - try offering the goody thru the flap but with the door nearly open to start with, and don't offer any goodies any other way. When the ice has been broken, gradually bring the offering closer to the opening, until he starts to put his head through to get it.

Well, after 2 visits to Ian - handing over the membership and treasury files - Maksi has taken a shine to me and in fact recognised me on the second visit.

He's a very likeable dog with a huge grin... good luck with the evening 'training' class tonight, Ian and Dawn!

We'll expect a progress report and perhaps a cheeky Maksi Cappo photo or two in the near future!!

I want to take my dog

Postby John Cates » Fri Sep 29, 2006 21:59

I suffer from depression,my greatest pleasure is driving my cappo, the only problem is my old dog died,I now have a very lively cross collie,a lovely dog and quite small fits on the passenger seat but keeps jumping about, can anyone help me get some sort of dog guard seperating me from the passenger seat,I would be very grateful for some help and willing to pay for the guard.
Thanks John Cates :(

Hi John,

I have successfully taken Maksi out in my X-90 with a dog guard and a harness which clips into the seat belt socket. The dog guard was from Argos, and I think it would work in the Cappo, as it has quite a range of adjustment. I'll take a look tomorrow. The harness came from a pet shop.
