HVAC control panel lights

Postby Jay Kerr » Fri May 14, 2021 19:46

Hello, simple question. This is my first and only experience with the Suzuki Cappuccino so I am wondering if the HVAC controls light up with the headlight switch or is there no bulb. Mine is dark so don’t know if it’s a burnt out bulb or it just doesn’t light up by design. Thank you.

Page 8-24 of the Service Manual shows that there is a lamp. It's named "Heater Switch". It's also shown on the main circuit diagram "Heater Blower Switch" The +ve wire to it is coded Red with Yellow stripe.

However, the Parts Catalog does not show the bulb, so the design probably did not provide for replacement.

Hello, after removing the HVAC controls I can confirm there is a bulb in there. It is a tiny bulb about the size of a tic tac. I replaced the burnt out one with a Sylvania #74. It’s a pain in the butt to change but the result was worth it.

I’d post a pic but I can’t figure out this outdated forum style *sorry*

Unfortunately, a previous update to the forum imposed the clumsy way we now have to insert pix. Either host outside the forum, or upload to the gallery. Then left-click the thumbnail in the gallery, which opens the image in a new window. Right-click that image and choose "Copy Image Link" (this is in Edge, but other browsers should do similarly).
Then go to your new post window, click the Img button and paste the link in between the two square brackets.
