Another possibility is an intermittent contact on the electrical supply to the fuel pump, which loses contact when under lateral acceleration. I had a similar thing on my first car (original Mini), because the factory had not spot welded the wire to the spade connector, and the wire-to-metal contact could vibrate loose.
